A Kuala Lumpur-based partner of Gurdial Bakan Singh, Mr. Sanjiv brings to the Firm a higher than average rate of judgements in favour of his clients. His strong record of accomplishment is indicative of his dynamism and capacity to accept new challenges at any level to meet the ever growing need of the Firm’s practice.

Sanjiv gained his qualification at Bond University, Australia, following which he was admitted to both the Malayan Bar and the Sarawak Bar, East Malaysia.

Sanjiv commenced his practice with leading Malaysian law firm Messrs. Sharizat & Tan, where he handled a varied litigation portfolio which included banking, commercial and corporate law, contractual disputes, debt recovery, industrial relations and claims relating to negligence.

He comes to Gurdial Bakan Singh from Messrs. Dhaliwal & Naicker where he was in charge of the civil litigation portfolio; comprised of conveyancing, family law, landlord and tenant matters and matters relating to professional negligence in addition to matters akin to his previous experience.

His strength lies in litigation having held a varied portfolio throughout his career which includes banking, commercial, company and corporate law, construction law, contractual disputes, criminal law, landlord and tenant matters, debt recovery, family law, and claims relating to negligence.
